Omar Popal wears many hat: entrepreneur, restauranteur, champagne connaisseur and occasionally: acteur! Back in June, a group of friends and I spent a lovely summer-like evening at the Dumberton House in Georgetown, sipping champagne, nibbling on savoury crêpes and watching The Picnic Theatre Company‘s inaugural performance of Moliere’s The Hypochondriac.

“Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there, wondering, fearing, doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dreamed before.” Just in time for Halloween, The Picnic Theatre Company is returning to the Dumberton House for an evening with Edgar Allan Poe, author of such Halloween appropriate works as “The Black Cat,” “The Haunted House,” or “The Murders in Rue Morgue.” The group will perform three short gothic plays 
Wednesday, Thursday and Friday October, 27th, 28th and 29th 2010. Thursday is already sold out but seats are still available for Wednesday and Friday’s shows. Despite the unseasonably warm weather we have been enjoyed of late, the performances will take place indoors, in the Belle Vue Ballroom and guests are encouraged to play along the Edgar Allan Poe theme and don their best gothic ensembles! Café Bonaparte and Napoleon Bistro & Lounge are once again sponsors of the event and crepes and champagne will be available for purchase. Miam! Tickets are just $10 and include admission to Napoleon Bistro & Lounge’s Halloween Party on Friday, Octobre 29th. Proceeds benefit Dumberton House and Clowns Without Borders.
