The House of Sweden has always hosted some pretty neat events. Situated on the Potomac River, the House of Sweden is the home of the Embassy of Sweden, the Embassy of Iceland, offices (such as Volvo’s government relation shop) and apartments, as well as an event center and a rooftop with stunning views of the river. From the After Dark parties (the next one, presented by The House of Sweden and Brightest Young Things is May 16 BTW) to the recent Embassy Chef Challenge which was won by Belgian Embassy chef Jan Van Haute, Eurovision celebrations with ABBA-licious costumes or free Yoga classes on the roof, there’s a little something for everyone happening there!
Over the next few Saturday, the Embassy of Sweden invites you to come and enjoy a tradition Swedish fika or traditional social coffee break.
Relax on the outdoor patio and enjoy traditional swedish sandwiches and desserts including:
- Swedish meatballs with beet salad
- Granola with rhubarb compote
- Blueberry cardamom muffins
- Rose hip soup with mini-macarons (I’m definitely making the trip to Georgetown just to check these out!)
The fika will be open Saturday May 1st, from 11 am to 4 pm, Saturday May 8th (also EU Embassy open house day) and Saturday June 5th and Sunday June 6th. The House of Sweden is located at 2900 K Street, NW.
Välkomna!!
