DC Patisserie is celebrating the cherry blossom season with a lovely limited edition macarons box designed by Torie Partridge, of Cherry Blossom Creative. Torie is a muralist and graphic artist who does a lot works with the Washington food community. She recently designed a sweet cherry blossom label for Capital Kombucha’s Cherry Blossom bottle and you can see one of her murals on the walls at Union Market. She embellished the bottom of the special box set of macarons with a whimsical koi fish pond design. Inside the box come two cherry blossom macarons, with a cherry jam center surrounding a cherry blossom creme filling, and one of each of the following seasonal flavours: black sesame, green tea, chocolate yuzu and (roll drum) rose litchi. Rose litchi is pretty much my favourite flavour combo after rose-litchi-raspberry (aka Pierre Herme’s famous Ispahan) so I’m pretty excited about this one!
