MONDAY FEBRUARY 27

TUESDAY FEBRUARY 28
Six D.C. foodtrucks will be parked outside the National Press Club for the first “Wine and Food Truck Pairing Dinner.” The Big Cheese, Go Fish!, Lemongrass Vietnamese Cuisine, DC Empanadas, BBQ Bus, and Curbside Cupcakes will each prepare a dish that will be accompanied by wine from The Fourth Estate Restaurant, except for Curbside Cupcakes, which will have its dessert served with a chocolate malt Chocolate City Brewery. Tickets were $35 though I think they’re already sold out. Good thing I got mine early 😉 On a slightly more serious topic, the French Embassy is hosting a discussion at 7PM on equality between men and women. Amongst the panelists is Sihem Habchi, a French women born to Algerian immegrants and who started the organization Ni Putes Ni Soumises following the high profile cases of the gang-rape of a 13 year old in the Paris subburbs and the burning alive of a 17 year old. The event is free, and the discussion will be followed by a reception.
WEDNESDAY MARCH 29
It’s not too early to start thinking about what you’ll be wearing at Mad Men watch parties March 25th! Don, Betty and Joan are back on TV for a new season, and Banana Republic has a new Mad Men clothing line for the occasion. Even better? D.C.’s Banana Republic stores (Georgetown and Downtown) are celebrating with special launch parties tonight starting at 6PM (5PM for cardmembers). You can also catch one of my favourite Woody Allen film, Annie Hall, for free at the National Portrait Gallery (starts at 6:30PM.)
